SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS

Quick-MD will run on Windows 95, 98, 2000 or XP Machines. A dedicated server is not required on networks with 4 or less work stations. In this situation you can run Peer to Peer and save your office 1000's of dollars.

On a network larger than 4 work stations, you will want to install Quick-MD on a dedicated server. Windows 2000 Server, Windows 2003 Server, Windows XP Professional, Novell, or Linux are all acceptable network operating systems. Any modern server will have enough resources to run the system. In a Networked environment, any software application, such as Quick-MD, can only process data as fast as the hub/switch, network cards, and cabling will allow. Please tell your hardware consultant you would like these components to be top of the line.

The minimum requirements of a server would be:

512MB ram.
2Ghz processor.
40GB hard drive.

A CD/DVD burner is the recommended backup system. Making a copy of the entire "qmed" folder every night guarantees your office will have a current back-up if needed.

In order to utilize the EMR, you will need to have Microsoft Word 97 or later, installed on each workstation utilizing this feature.

Remember you will need a modem and a dedicated phone line in the work station that is filing the claims electronically.
